WELCOME FROM PASTOR HENRY
Whether you are visiting our website for the first time or even if you call Calvary Chapel your home church, I trust our website will serve as a bridge of understanding to the ministry and vision of this church.Calvary Chapel Westside began as an outreach home Bible study of Calvary Chapel Finger Lakes, with the encouragement and blessing of my Pastor, Bil Gallatin. We were incorporated in 1984 and after filling our house with believers, moved to a converted barn, we soon moved from there (I'm not sure if it was because we filled the barn or the mice scared us out of there). We moved into a two-story cinder block building in the village of Spencerport. God's hand of grace was upon us and we grew in love and in number. Soon we moved again into the old ninth grade Spencerport School and worshipped there for several years. In 2004, God graciously allowed us to build our current house of worship.
I have been so blessed to have many, many wonderful, gifted and anointed people come along side of me to help tend God's sheep. The greatest blessing of all has been my faithful and hard working wife Angela, and next to her are our children. Many pastors have told me that they pray that some day their kids will serve Jesus with them as mine do with me. Believe me, all of this is the grace of God.
As a church, we have been up, and we have been down, but in every season Jesus sticks closer than a brother and He teaches us the lessons that we need to learn. Loving God and loving and feeding His sheep is my reasonable service, as His under shepherd and I take it seriously. If I had one prayer that I would ask you to pray for me, it would be this: "Lord Jesus, strengthen Henry so that he finishes well!"
